Our founder, Eric Earle, used to struggled with math and science — until he started working with tutors. He searched all around Portland for the best chemistry tutors. When he found them, he had them tutor him. From here, he was able to determine who the best tutors were. That’s how the hiring process works at Tutor Portland. Because we know just how hard it can be to learn math and science, we strive to make it as easy as possible for you. Our chemistry tutors are all, obviously, knowledgeable about chemistry. But more than that, they understand what it’s like to struggle in a subject. Our chemistry tutors have a passion for what they do. They believe that learning science helps you not only in school, it helps you in life. Our tutors believe that learning science makes you a quicker and sharper learner in all your subjects. We know that learning chemistry can be hard. Our founder, Eric, tried learning on his own. He watched youtube videos and went to KhanAcademy (a great resource!) to learn more. But it didn’t work.
